서울의 일렉트로니카 씬에서 조용하지만 꾸준히 존재감을 쌓아온 khc가 SoundSupply_Service를 통해 첫 정규 앨범 ‘아침놀 (achimnol)’을 발표한다. 10곡으로 이루어진 이번 앨범은 북유럽 밴드 Sigur Rós, Múm의 합창 같은 질감과 실험적인 감수성을 닮았으며, 일본 아티스트 Tujiko Noriko의 섬세하고 글리치한 사운드도 자연스럽게 떠오르게 한다. 음악은 때로 신비롭고 동화처럼 펼쳐지다가도, 어느 순간에는 아주 가까운 자리에서 속삭이듯 인간적인 온기를 전한다.

A reserved yet steadily rising figure in Seoul’s electronica and folktronica scene, khc presents his debut album and first release on SoundSupply_Service. 아침놀 achimnol is a quietly stunning 10-track work, which echoes the choral textures and that sense of experimentation and play of Nordic bands like Sigur Rós and Múm, and also recalls the glitchy delicacy of Japanese artist Tujiko Noriko. At times mystic and fairytale-like, at others intimate and painfully human, the record carries the feeling of a journey outward and inward – a slow metamorphosis through memory, observation, and acceptance. The lyrics evoke natural elements – rain, wind, animals – which seem to act as mirrors for feelings. There is a sense of divinity in the mundane, more like fairies hidden in the woods rather than a towering god observing from above.
