산산조각

안녕하세요, 장기하입니다. 제 첫 솔로 정규앨범 〈산산조각〉을 만든 과정은 대략 이렇습니다. 우선 제 마음속에서 무엇이 오고가는지 바라보았습니다. 그중 가장 뚜렷한 것들을 모아 시 한 편에 옮겨 담았습니다. 그리고 그 시에서 비롯된 무성영화 한 편을 만들었습니다. 최종 편집본이 나올 때까지 음악에 대한 계획은 세우지 않았죠. 편집본을 받은 후엔 장면에 맞게 음악을 입혀나가는 방식으로 작곡을 했습니다. 그러는 동안 영화는 전혀 수정하지 않았어요. 이렇게, 하나의 음반과 하나의 무성영화가 짝을 이루는 형태의 앨범을 완성했습니다. 음악, 영상, 안무 등 다양한 분야의 멋진 동료들과 함께요. 2년 반쯤의 시간 동안 부지런히 만들었어요. 다만 서두르진 않았습니다. 돌고 도는 삶에 대해 이런저런 질문을 던져 보았고, 답을 얻진 못해도 찾아가는 과정을 정성껏 담으려 노력했습니다. 그 결과물을 드디어 여러분과 나눌 수 있어 설레네요. 처음부터 끝까지 음악만 한 번, 그리고 영상과 함께 또 한 번 즐겨주시면 정말 고맙겠습니다. 어느 쪽이 먼저든 상관은 없습니다. 〈산산조각〉이 여러분의 마음에 무엇을 불러일으킬지, 무척 궁금합니다.
